I've done one 64 mile trail ultra, one 31 mile flat ultra, one Ironman, bunch of half ironmans. I'm fit - currently training around 12-16 hours a week (swim bike run plus yoga and strength sessions). But I'm not doing the distance running at the moment. The 64 mile ultra was in August. My current running mileage is only about 25-35 miles.
Fast forward to the 2016 edition of the race. Under similar freezing conditions on the mountain an experienced Mexican ultrarunner, Arturo Rueda, is reported missing.
