The 1.9 TDi ALH engines have 109 bhp at 4150RPM and 173 lbft at 1,900 RPM. PD version of 1.9 R4 TDI came later, and presented a number of new problems and issues, despite offering better power and economy. For the PD Pumpe Düse injectors, the cylinder head of the redesigned engine has been reworked.
Re: VW 2.0 TDI: Different Power & Torque outputs - How & why? There are two configurations available in 2.0 ltr TDI within VW Group. There’s the 2.0 R4 16v TDI PD 103-125 kW & the 2.0 R4 16v TDI CR 81-176kW. Externally on cars, the batching still stands as 2.0 TDi, but the internals vary.
So in summary, 1,5 bars of boost at low revs can be a lot more dangerous than the same boost at 3000 rpm. And 1 bar boost at 6000 will make more power than both and remain safer overall. But then you run into cooling, fueling and other areas that also can make the engine terminally sad when pushed too far. x2.
