Posted January 28, 2022. Is the Mk2 1.6 Petrol focus sump usually fitted with a single use disposable oil drain plug? The Haynes manual simply says that some drain plugs have an integral seal, and must be replaced when changed. It does not specify which engines are fitted with which type. If the plug is re-useable, what sort of seal does it use?
I heard the 1.6 is a little bit more known to oil usage, check for oil spots in the engine bay. The Zetec has a little weird engine sound, maybe its just that I got used to my fathers newer cars, but its almost diesel like. Do not be worried about it, if its taken care of, it literally only needs oil changes and the usual stuff. Great little cars.
